Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a smartphone app or batteries to use this scanner?
No. It's a fully standalone handheld device that draws power directly from your vehicle's OBD port (9V-16V) - no app, Bluetooth pairing, or batteries required.
Will it work with my car?
It supports 9 major global OBD2 protocols and is generally compatible with American vehicles manufactured after 1996, and after 2002/2008 for many European and Asian models. Note it does not support ABS, SRS, or TPMS-specific diagnostics, so check compatibility for your exact make and year before purchasing.
Can it reset my check engine light?
Yes, it can read and clear generic, manufacturer-specific, and pending fault codes, which turns off the Check Engine (MIL) light once the underlying issue has been addressed.
Does it show real-time data while driving, or just fault codes?
Both - beyond reading stored trouble codes, it streams live data including engine RPM, vehicle speed, coolant temperature, throttle position, and battery voltage, plus one-click I/M readiness checks for emissions testing.
